Tutoring

NHS Tutoring Procedures

*All NHS members must tutor for at least 2 hours per month*

Instructions for becoming an NHS tutor:

  1. Save the Tutoring Hours Verfication Form (Linked below) for easy future access.

  2. Think of a class you would like to tutor for—students tend to ask their past teachers. Choose a course that you would feel comfortable teaching (typically one where you ended with an A).

  3. Email the teacher of the class asking if they would be willing to have an NHS student tutor on-deck at their tutorials this year. Provide them with the days of the week and times that you would be available to attend, and request to be added to their Teams channel/OneNote if possible. Remember to be polite!

  4. If they say agree, complete the tutoring assignment survey: https://forms.office.com/r/bQkmH7KC6v . If they decline, think of different subject.

  5. Begin tutoring! Remember to record your hours and ask your teacher to sign off on your Tutoring Hours Form before the end of the month. Follow the instructions on the form to submit your hours.

  6. If you would like to tutor more, keep an eye out for additional special tutoring requests at meetings and in emails. Contact s-yoonh@bsd405.org with any questions.
